IGS takes pride in its top-class application design support services, offered by our highly trained and experienced Technical Sales and Engineering team. With a large portfolio of efficient solutions spanning across a wide range of industries from small and medium sized to premium blue chip companies, IGS can assist from the early design specification stage through the final testing and qualification.

Depending on the application requirements and constraints, IGS offers two alternative product development routes:

Stock product-based solution

  • Customer completes our design application form
  • IGS Technical team propose a solution using ex stock gas springs or standard components based on volume and delivery requirements
  • The proposal is communicated alongside a sales drawing
  • Customer reviews and approves design proposal
  • Order is placed by the customer
  • Ex-stock gas springs despatched to customer

New Product Design project

Our Research and Development team employs methodologies such as Functional Modelling, Value Analysis (VA) and Failure Models and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to thoroughly understand your needs and design efficient, reliable solutions.

Equipped with cutting edge design and simulation software tools, IGS can generate and evaluate design ideas during the Concept design phase as dictated by the AS9100 Aerospace standard.

Application Support

 

Once the concept is approved by our customer, prototypes are built and evaluated in our test facilities. This phase often involves design iterations managed by the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle as defined by AS9100 and ISO 9001. At the end of this phase, sample products are shipped to our customer for testing and approval.

Approved concepts are then detailed for manufacturing and the optimal production processes are developed using cross functional tools such as Process FMEA and the PDCA continuous improvement cycle. A sales drawing is then released to the customer, showing all the controlled geometrical and performance parameters that are critical to the application.

IGS also offers Design Qualification testing services when required.
